Shareable Link is a capture playbook that creates an SMS or WhatsApp protocol link customers can use to subscribe to your business. When clicked, the link opens the compatible messaging app on the customer’s phone with a pre-filled opt-in message.
All they have to do is tap Send. After that, Hellotext can track which customer profiles subscribed from the link.
You can also attach a coupon when the configured follow-up route contains a message that can deliver it.
Create a Shareable Link capture
To set up a Shareable Link, open Playbooks, click Explore playbooks, find the Captures group, and choose Shareable Link.
Choose the app you want the link to open
Choose the app the link should open. Available options are SMS and WhatsApp. WhatsApp is available only when a compatible WhatsApp account is connected.
Choose the phone number and message
Choose the phone number that should receive the opt-in message:
- If you have selected SMS in the first step, and if you have phone numbers or short codes associated with your business, you can choose one of these as the number that customers will send the opt-in message to.
- If you selected WhatsApp, Hellotext shows compatible phone numbers from the connected WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), not SMS channels.
If you do not choose a specific number, keep the default setting so Hellotext can use an available compatible number.
You can customize the pre-filled message customers send to subscribe. Keep the subscription intent clear; Hellotext preserves the capture reference needed to identify the source.
Choose the follow-up
On the next step, you have the option to choose what happens after your customer subscribes.
By default, a welcome message is sent to the new subscriber.
However, if you have created any coupons, you can choose to include them in the welcome message as an incentive for subscribing.
Alternatively, you can select a route or another compatible playbook to replace the default welcome message.
That follow-up will be sent to the new subscriber instead of the default message.
Share the link
Move to the last step and copy the link given.
Share this link as you would do with a regular link.
Test the link from a phone before publishing it. Confirm that it opens the expected app and number, keeps the opt-in message and capture reference, and subscribes the profile only after the customer sends the message.
Share on Instagram
Use the Link sticker to add the shareable link to your story. When people tap on the sticker, they’ll be redirected.
To add a Link sticker
- Capture or upload content to your story
- Select the Sticker tool. This may be placed differently depending on which version of Instagram you’re using.
- Tap the “Link” sticker, here you should paste the shareable link
- Place the sticker on your story, do any other modifications needed
- Publish your story
